Easy Custom Fit Hat $25.00

Sat. Aug. 2, & Sat. Aug. 30  11am-12pm
(Includes both sessions)

Instructor: Amber Wells

We'll use a simple “formula” hat pattern to knit a basic hat.  This is a great project to learn how to use
double pointed needles (dpns), since we’ll start our hats on a 16” circular needle and switch to dpns for
the crown.  If you've never knit in the round before, that's fine too – we'll show you how!  You should
know how to knit and purl for this one.  You will need 3 ounces of your choice of yarn, 16” circular
needles, plus 5 double point needles in the size appropriate for the yarn you have selected.  Please
come to class with a 4x4 swatch already knit.

Other notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Custom Fit Raglan Pullover Sweater $55.00

Sat. July 26, Sat. Aug. 9, Sat. Aug. 23, & Sat. Sept. 6 10am-12pm
(Includes all four sessions)

Instructor: Amber Wells

Using the book The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns, you’ll knit a raglan sweater in the yarn
of your choice.  This is a great first sweater!

This one is for the advanced beginner.  You need to know how to cast on, bind off, knit and purl, knit in
the round, increase and decrease.  Raglan sweater instructions begin on page 140.  Choose your size
(from 26” - 54” chest circumference).   Choose whatever yarn you'd like!  Come into the shop, buy a
ball of yarn and knit a swatch.  Determine your gauge and use the charts on page 143 or 151 to
determine how much yarn you'll need for your sweater.  You can purchase the rest of your yarn in
advance, or on the first day of class.  Sample sweater was knit in Rowan Kid Classic.  You'll need both
circular needles and double pointed needles in a size appropriate for the yarn you've chosen.  The
length of the circular needles needs to be smaller than the size sweater you're knitting, so for example,
if you're knitting a 36” sweater, you can use 24” or 32” circular needles.

Other notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle, scrap yarn.
